Read the selected item's contents
The current Smead 10339 offer states 100 folders per box. The selected Pentel offer supplies one pen, and the selected Rhodia offer supplies one 80-sheet pad. The word box does not have a universal stationery quantity. A shipping carton may contain one selling box or several, and a product photograph can show more than the selected offer includes. Use the explicit contents field on the exact order line rather than a packaging silhouette.
Keep nested quantities visible
If a different listing supplies several boxes, record boxes per offer and folders per box separately. For example, a genuine five-box offer with 100 folders in each would contain 500 folders, but no such five-box offer is selected here. That conditional arithmetic must not become an assertion about the current $36 listing. The main calculator uses the verified current pack contents only. Changing seller or pack requires updating the quantity before comparing prices.
Avoid a costly reorder shorthand
A request for ten boxes can mean 1,000 folders in the selected Smead record, while a request for ten folders would be fulfilled by one 100-folder box if only whole boxes are sold. The resulting surplus is a consequence of the selling unit, not an error in arithmetic. Confirm whether the buyer actually wants individual folders, complete selling boxes or a particular number of sealed packages before approving a bulk line.
Check the delivered labeling
Retain the manufacturer code, seller item code if different, unit quantity and number of selling packs on the purchase record. When a shipment arrives, compare its labels with that record rather than relying on the outer carton's size. This site has not opened or counted a delivered package, and it does not promise that a seller will split a box. If the listing's quantity is unclear, ask the seller before using its price in a unit-cost comparison.
Ask whether a price is for each or for the box
An invoice shorthand can show a quantity column and a unit price without making the unit obvious. Before comparing it with the current folder record, confirm whether one invoiced unit is one folder or one box of100. A $36line described as one box has a very different meaning from36dollars per individual folder. Retain the unit wording from the actual quote rather than inferring it from the total. If the quote uses a case code, ask for boxes per case and folders per box separately before entering any calculation.
